Evolution Banner

It's true! Our brain is specifically designed for the purpose of our survival as humans. Brain Channels decided to accept people's survival stories because it is synchronous with the human evolution story woven throughout the site.

It is clear that we can all learn from others' survival stories no matter what degree of severity they are. We can even learn from a household pet's survival story and these stories are also welcome as so many of our pets are deeply loved and cherished as part of our lives. Brain Channels wishes to emphasize that many people would have lost their lives throughout history had it not been for their pets who either saved them from a life threatening fire, or kept them company through a lonely time in their life. Clearly, our pets are part of the human evolution story through time.

Survival Story Submission Guidelines:

The story should involve a real threat to one's survival that was overcome through the strength, determination and ingenuity of the survivor. The survivor must not have oppressed any innocent person or caused undue stress or trauma to another in order to overcome their threatening situation as so often is the case. Too often people believe destroy and conquer is the way to survival, but we as humans, unlike many genetically programmed animals, have the ability to find creative solutions to our problems like never before. Few people realize their potential to survive in this regard, and end up oppressing and manipulating others as a means of power, control and survival, that often resembles the animal kingdom's hierarchies such as exists within the groups of apes, chimpanzees and lions.

Subject: The survivor's story can involve a miraculous event (i.e., telepathy, coincidence, clairavoyance, vision, etc.) or through the survivor's ability to find a creative solution using their intellecutal resources and knowledge (i.e., knowing how to tie the life saving knot in a rope, etc.).

Length: The story should be as short and concise as possible. It doesn't have to be professionally written. With permission granted it might be edited by Brain Channels.

Selection for Story of the Month

All survival stories will be listed on Brain Channels, and one will be chosen each month as the "Survival Story of the Month" that will be linked to the home page and the story later archived on the site. A complimentary Educational CD-ROM will be sent to the survivor as a thank you for contributing their story.

To submit your story, fill out our Survivor Story Form. Upon receipt of the story, Brain Channels will send a confirmation that your story has been received. It will then be reviewed, edited for grammatical errors and conciseness and then posted to the site for other visitors to see.
